Au Revoir 2014

Overall, I really can’t complain about 2014! I had a pretty good year. I met some awesome people in LA (best experience ever), I got to go to spring training and see my Giants, and I turned 21. I honestly think that this was a pretty great year. Some of the things that made this year memorable are included in this post. Other things are not. Like every year, I feel like I really learn who my true friends are. I am still learning but this year really opened up my eyes. Some things that improved my year were: the best book that I read was Joan Rivers: Diary of a Mad Diva, my favorite restaurant this year has been Gracias Madre, my favorite bar was The Nice Guy, my favorite lipstick has been by MAC, my favorite designer was Kate Spade. These are just a few of the things that have made my year exceptional. Like I mentioned, this has also really been a year of learning. This year I decided to drop my sorority. This was a tough decision  for me to make but I feel that it was for the best. I have really had the opportunity to experience college for myself without having to report to a coach or attend meetings/events/activities. Although this is the first time EVER that I am not involved in an extracurricular activity, I have really learned about myself in these few months. I now, more than ever, appreciate those activities and am so thankful for the friendships and experiences that they gave me! I also had the awesome chance to spend two months in Los Angeles, which was something that will never be able to be replaced. It was the most amazing summer and I am so so so thankful to have had the chance of an amazing experience. I can’t wait to be back in LA living and working where I feel I fit in the best! Here is a recap of what I did this year VERY briefly: IMG_2671 IMG_2920 IMG_2664 image 20140701-205716-75436081.jpg IMG_1775As for what happened in 2014 as seen by the rest of the world: These news stories. The best instagram fashion moments. These big fashion trends. Best selling books of 2014. Top food trends. The best songs of 2014. Like I said, I think this has been a pretty decent year over all. I hope that everyone else also had an enjoyable year, but I hope that 2015 is even better for everyone! I am thinking that this will be a good one. Fingers crossed.

A Christmas Story

I am so sad that the holidays have come to a close. Thankfully we are approaching a new year, which will be filled with lots of new adventures! I am back to school for three weeks doing a wintermester course which isn’t how I would prefer to be spending the rest of my break, but one class over winter break means one less class during the regular year. I can SMELL graduation! WOOO.

Yesterday I said I would post a few more pics from the holidays, so here it goes! These are just some things that made me really happy to be staying at home this holiday season. 🙂 IMG_2493_2 IMG_2494_2 IMG_2501 IMG_2504 IMG_2505

I had to add a few pictures of Jager and Bear enjoying Christmas as well. They were just too cute to not include. 😉

So yea….I have been pretty MIA. This I know. I got the plague flu last week and I was out for the count. I wish I could have posted more but I didn’t even open up my computer until Saturday. It totally sucked! I hope that everyone had a great holiday with their families. I thankfully got to spend all of my time getting better at my parents house where I was well fed and taken care of.

Before I got sick, I planned on having a few friends over for some drinks. I found this recipe on pintrest and thought I would recreate it and share it. I changed up the recipe a little to fit into two pitchers that I had, but it turned out to be really delicious. Like I said, I modified this to work a little better for me. I also wanted it to be a little bit sweeter.

Christmas Sangria

1 Granny Smith Apple

1 Red apple

1 cup cranberries

1 sprig of rosemary

1 bottle of pinot grigio (I used Barefoot)

1/2 – 1 cup white grape juice

1/4 cup white sugar

1/2 cup sprite (I used Sprite Cranberry)

For this recipe, this is pretty simple. I chose a pitcher that was big enough. I ended up using two. I separated all of the ingredients and made it for both pitchers. Start with the sugar on the bottom, then pour all of the fruit and liquids into the pitchers and mix until sugar is dissolved. I refrigerated mine for a few hours to make sure it was extra cold then served it up in wine glasses. It was a huge hit and it was delicious! No, this is not a classic sangria but it is great and festive for the fall!

Hope that you enjoy this recipe. Let me know if you make it and how you like it!!!

P.s. There are more Christmas pictures coming!

Weekend Recap

For my fellow college students, hopefully you also have the joy of celebrating the end of the semester! WOOOHOOO. My mom mentioned to me yesterday that I just finished my 7th semester of college. Doesn’t that seem so strange? It feels like I am going into my freshman year again. Crazy how time flies by so fast! So this weekend was pretty eventful! On Friday night, I went to the Kathy Griffin show at the Silver Legacy. I am a huge Kathy Griffin fan but I was a little nervous because I don’t usually find standup very funny. I think its funny but for some reason, it never gets me laughing. Kathy was so amazing though! She had me cracking up the whole time.We had really great seats which was a plus. Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset        On Saturday, Reno has a big event called the Reno Santa pub crawl. It is pretty much what it sounds like. You buy a cup (or not) and go bar to bar downtown drinking and having fun with your friends while dressing up. I went with my two cute friends Charlene and Annie who dressed as Santa’s little helper. I also met up with my friend Kelsea who I love to run into! I dressed up as a nutcracker because my sister had the outfit pieces and it was just the most simple option. We had a really nice time and enjoyed each other’s company! We had the opportunity to experience new bars in Reno and met tons of people. I was unable to upload the pictures of me, Char and Annie so I will post them in the next post if I can!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

EjoyHope everyonet of their week.

My Face Routine

So if you read this post, you will realize that I wear a lot of makeup. Which is totally fine for me! I was blessed with nice skin and its ok if I pack it on a little heavier. It just works for me. But, I love to clean my face at the end of the day. I never ever go to bed with my makeup on. So, I have listed all of the products that I use to keep my face nice and smooth, especially during the frigid winter. It seems to be really difficult to keep your skin moisturized enough during winter but I have created a fool proof routine that works perfect for my skin! Hopefully this helps if you are looking for an updated routine.

1. Wipe off ALL of my makeup. I always scrub my face with these amazing MAC face wipes. They are perfect if you’re like me and love to wear heavy makeup. They take it all off and are really gentle on my sensitive skin.

2. After wiping off all of my makeup. I wet my face and put some of my favorite cleanser by philosophy on my Clarisonic. I am LOVING  my clarisonic. the brush is soft enough not to irritate my skin, but it works so well and gets all of the makeup out of my pore for a super deep clean. It makes my skin feel so smooth.

3.  After washing my face, I dry it off and start on a face mask. Ok…so I am mildly obsessed with face mask and use one every night. I know that sounds like a crazy lot, but I swear it works for me. I switch it up every night and I have it on my big calendar reminding me which mask to use. I have been switching between the Glamglow brand of masks and the Lush masks. I got a small sample kit at Sephora for Glamglow which included two small mask and one normal size. This was perfect for me to try because these are really expensive. But, totally worth it. As for my Lush mask, I have always loved their masks but its hard to get them since they can’t be shipped and I don’t live anywhere near a Lush store! So I got this self preserving one when I was in Ohio and I love it! All of the masks have instructions with them and direct you how to use them. Super simple. Out of all of these mask, I still can’t pick a favorite! They are all amazing and all so different.

4. After the mask is ready and washed off of my face, I really like to prep my skin for bed with a good lotion. I have been using the philosophy eye cream lately (not pictured) and I really like it, but I haven’t really noticed a significant difference. As for lotion, I have been using the philosophy lotions (hope in a jar day and night) for months now and I am obsessed. I either have really oily skin or really dry skin and I feel that these lotions really compliment my complexion. They aren’t too oily and they moisturize so well. You really have to try them to know what I’m talking about! Its like putting liquid velvet on my face. I love them so much!

I hope that this routine helps you as much as it helps me! All of these products would also make great gifts. 😉

How To Make a Little Extra Cash

You guys…Christmas is in FIFTEEN days. 15. That is TWO FREAKIN’ WEEKS. Crazy huh?! I don’t know about you, but I am always running short on cash (sorry mom and dad). I am always spending money on groceries, clothes, makeup, or meaningless things (oops). But, that’s beside the point. I always need money. Plus, who wouldn’t love a little cash, especially around the holiday season?! Exactly. So I am about to share with you my secrets to making a little extra cash for you or for an epic present!

My first money making secret is your old clothes. Yes. Your old clothes that you usually send to red cross for the season or throw in a garbage bag until someone decides to rid of it. It’s a simple app called Poshmark.

How it works:

Create and account with Poshmark (purchase in the iTunes store for free!) with a user name. Fill out the profile about yourself, sizes and shipping address. Then, start selling! The app is super simple to navigate. It is truly fool proof. Take tasteful photos of the clothing you are selling and price them reasonably. You can share your items with your followers, with different “parties” that happen or on the feed. Like I said, its really simple. Poshmark takes 20% of the earnings and in return they email you with a prepaid shipping label. All you need to do is fold up the item, put it in a box, and send it off. Then, wait for the money to come through! You can either get it sent through your Poshmark app, or they will send you a check in the mail! Super simple way to make some really good money.

The next money making secret I have is an app called Mobee. Also free in the iTunes store. And, just as simple as the one before.

How it works:

You use your location and the mobee app finds stores that have tasks for you. On the map, the store will light up, when you click on it, you can read the challenge. Usually, you have to take a picture of a certain display. The app guides you through the entire process. As you accomplish the tasks, you receive points through the app. As they build up, you can redeem them on the app for things like starbucks or iTunes gift cards! Like I said, this is a really awesome, easy way to make a little extra!

Another easy way to make some money is through the new app, TSU. With a silent T, the app is pronounced SUE.

How it works:

It’s like a Facebook combined with an instagram. You have the ability to upload pictures, write posts, follow people, friend request, etc. The only catch is, you have to be invited to the app! The more content that you post, the more it is viewed and the more people you get to join your “family tree”, you earn money right on the app! I am still figuring it out myself but it is going to be the next big social media networking device. If you would like to try it out for yourself, my short code is

The last little tip I have for making some extra cash, SAVE YOUR CHANGE. I know people have been collecting coins for days, but seriously, it works! I have a piggy bank and every time I get change back, I toss it in my piggy bank! It really begins to add up. As silly as it sounds, it works. Trust me.

I hope that some of these tips and trick help you to make a little extra money this holiday season!!!

Fashion Show Frenzy

In honor of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last night (aka the best night EVER), here are some of my favorite pieces of lingerie. Seriously, the fashion show is something I always look forward to. And this year, the shoe designer was my #1 bae, Sophia Webster. So obviously the shoes were TO DIE FOR. Thanks Soph! Ok and btw…the costumes were so amazing. Seriously…I would kill for a set of those amazing wings. So beautiful. Oh and TAYLOR SWIFT was also amazing. I could really rave on about this for quite some time but I will spare you and leave it at this.

This amazing lace demi bra.

This super scandalous yet awesome piece.

This fantasy piece.

This lace and leather piece (cue Britney Spears)

Because, who doesn’t need a tulle and lace bra?!

This super glam piece.

STOP. This extravagant outfit. Not for the simplistic gal.

These are just a few of the amazing pieces that Victoria’s Secret is offering to their customer. I would say we are pretty lucky. There are some really amazing things in this runway collection!

Graduation Gift That Mean Something

Graduation happened this past weekend, but the parties haven’t stopped! Its always hard to decide what to buy for a friend. Money seems pretty impersonal as do gift cards (although they are greatly appreciated). Sometimes its nice to go the extra mile and find someone a gift that they weren’t expecting. Here are a few great gifts I think would be really great.

1. A passport holder.

2. This beautiful personalized tote.

3. A necklace to remind them of home.

4. A personalized hanger kit.

5. Some amazing “big girl” sunglasses.

For the guy who is graduating and deserves a special treat!

1. A nice silk tie.

2. Some mature fraternity wear.

3. One of these awesome flasks, to drink in style.

4. A nice pair of sunglasses.

5. A really nice polo.

Hopefully this helps a little if you’re still in search for the perfect gift! I stand by all of these gifts and would love to give them to a friend or family member. Enjoy the fall graduation season and have fun at all the graduation parties!
