Overall, I really can’t complain about 2014! I had a pretty good year. I met some awesome people in LA (best experience ever), I got to go to spring training and see my Giants, and I turned 21. I honestly think that this was a pretty great year. Some of the things that made this year memorable are included in this post. Other things are not. Like every year, I feel like I really learn who my true friends are. I am still learning but this year really opened up my eyes. Some things that improved my year were: the best book that I read was Joan Rivers: Diary of a Mad Diva, my favorite restaurant this year has been Gracias Madre, my favorite bar was The Nice Guy, my favorite lipstick has been by MAC, my favorite designer was Kate Spade. These are just a few of the things that have made my year exceptional. Like I mentioned, this has also really been a year of learning. This year I decided to drop my sorority. This was a tough decision for me to make but I feel that it was for the best. I have really had the opportunity to experience college for myself without having to report to a coach or attend meetings/events/activities. Although this is the first time EVER that I am not involved in an extracurricular activity, I have really learned about myself in these few months. I now, more than ever, appreciate those activities and am so thankful for the friendships and experiences that they gave me! I also had the awesome chance to spend two months in Los Angeles, which was something that will never be able to be replaced. It was the most amazing summer and I am so so so thankful to have had the chance of an amazing experience. I can’t wait to be back in LA living and working where I feel I fit in the best! Here is a recap of what I did this year VERY briefly: As for what happened in 2014 as seen by the rest of the world: These news stories. The best instagram fashion moments. These big fashion trends. Best selling books of 2014. Top food trends. The best songs of 2014. Like I said, I think this has been a pretty decent year over all. I hope that everyone else also had an enjoyable year, but I hope that 2015 is even better for everyone! I am thinking that this will be a good one. Fingers crossed.

We all have that friend or family member that has everything under the sun. What’s the point of getting them a collection from Bath and Body Works when they already have every smell? There isn’t a point. So, how about some more practical options that you know will be small and simple gifts, yet greatly appreciated!
1. An umbrella. This cute designer umbrella is practical and inexpensive. Plus, who doesn’t love Marc Jacobs?
2.These super seasonal and fun socks. Everyone needs to wear socks. These are perfect under boots!
3. How about these super silky and sexy VS panties. Everyone needs panties…well most people. 😛
4. A hair set. This one is super amazing. All of Drybar’s products are fab and smell even better!
5. This amazing little compact mirror! Who doesn’t like to take a little peek at themselves during the day?
6. Some beautiful personalized stationary.
7. My absolute favorite holiday gift towers.
8. One of these awesome boxes!
9. Rosetta Stone would be a really amazing gift for someone who loves to travel but doesn’t need another sweater.
10. Gift cards. This is always a really questionable gift in my family. We have always felt that they were impersonal and really just not a present you would give to someone. Although, the older I get, the more appealing a gift card seems. Its hard to have people buy me presents now because it isn’t always what I want! I would be very happy receiving a gift card.
Hope this list helps out as Christmas gets closer and closer! Yay!
Over the weekend, I was really craving a small getaway. Even if it was just up to Tahoe, it was so worth it to escape home for just a few hours. It’s always nice to head to the lake and see such an awesome place. I was especially interested in headed to the best boutique, Fine N’ Funky. They have a really great selection of designers, which is a change of pace for the typical Reno style. All of the employee’s in the store were so friendly and ready to help. I spent two hours in the store and I could have spent two more! I have really been craving something from the brand, For Love and Lemons and they had a wide variety, which was amazing. I loved playing dress up with all of the amazing clothes. If you are up in the Tahoe or Reno area ever, take a visit into their boutique. Not only is there one in Tahoe but there is also another boutique they own in Reno, Concepts by Fine N’ Funky. Seriously, go. You are bound to find something you love! If you can’t make it to this neck of the woods, head over to their website and order some holiday treats for you or a friend!
We also stopped for lunch in Tahoe city, where we could see the lake. We had a fabulous meal and an even better view.
A quick stop at Squaw.
Hope everyone got some good gifts during all the amazing Black Friday sales!
Next week is December. Yes. That’s right. NEXT WEEK! Is that completely insane to anyone else or no? I can’t believe how fast this semester and year has flown by. I feel like the New Year was just a week ago! So crazy. Since Christmas is not too far away, I have started to plan some gift guides. Everyone has those certain friends or family members that they just have to find something really special for. So, my first gift guide is for that fashion forward friend! I love all of these things and would love to receive any of them. 😉
The cutest Kate Spade bangle
The perfect princess earrings
A super cute graphic tee
A funny phone case
A cozy coat
A really nice pair of gloves
A massive blanket scarf
Let’s just say…this weekend was one for the books. On Friday night, Kristen and I started out at SUR (Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant) and unfortunately didn’t see anyone famous but we had the most amazing meal. We started with the fried goat cheese balls which were great. They were fried (yum) and filled with decadent goat cheese that had the perfect creamy tang. For our main course, I got the skirt steak and Kristen got the chicken enchilada. Both were amazing! We also got dessert (obviously) and decided to go with the New York Cheesecake which had a great strawberry drizzle. The cheesecake was moist, dense and delicious! Although the menu is a bit pricey, it was totally worth the experience. I would recommend going if you are young and like good food. The atmosphere is hip and inviting and all the employees are so nice!
** Sorry about the picture quality. All we had was an iPhone. 😦
Goat Cheese Balls
After our night at SUR, we weren’t ready to be done. We attempted to head to a club in Hollywood which turned into a HUGE cluster f**k. I ended up alone at Mel’s on Sunset munching away at a plate of fries while Kristen scurried around town in an Uber cab to find me. Thankfully, she prevailed and we found our way to a different 18+ club called Avalon. Unbeknown to us, the cover was $30. Remember, this is LA. They do that stuff around here. At the end of it all, the $30 was totally worth it because we shook our booties all night long and had a grand ole time! While leaving the club, we ran into the CUTEST little poodle named big moose and I obviously had to get a picture with him. Out of all the opportunities I could have had for photos, Moose was the only one special enough to get a photo op.
Outfit Details: Dress (old, bebe), Clutch (old, Juicy Couture), Shoes (similar)
I know this is getting long, but keep on reading!
On our way home from the club, we grabbed an Uber and at a stop light, we were next to some guys in a convertible mustang. They kept asking us to follow them to a party (sketchy I know). But we were a bit tipsy and nothing sounded more appealing than having an adventure. So adventure is what we did! We followed the strangers (don’t judge) and we headed right into Bel Air (cue Fresh Prince theme song). As we drove in, we headed for a gated mansion. YEP! A Bel Air mansion! When the gate opened, we knew where the party was. We went inside and met all the people we could because thats what networking is all about right? (HEEHEE) The party was awesome and its something that I can now cross off of my list. We partied the night away and found ourselves in Bel Air. It was crazy, fun, memorable and a great story to tell! A night I will never forget.
Thanks for keeping up with my exciting adventures!
